If you have been reading my blog, it should come as no surprise to you that I live for a great venue. Today’s Art Institute of Chicago engagement session was one such venue. Gorgeous architecture outside and incredible art inside – what a dream! I loved doing the documentary-style session, and I am so excited to share it with you. 

I have been DYING to do a session at this location forever, and I finally got my opportunity in March! It was so fun to explore and use the space as inspiration for the photos. I am not sure that there is anything better than allowing art to inspire your own creative process. The photos that we got are incredible, and I love them all. 

I really enjoy being able to do a documentary-style shoot. We focus on capturing things as they happen rather than having everything very posed. I got to follow Laura and Anthony, capturing photos as they interacted with each other and marveled at the art. We still took some posed shots (because what is an engagement session without one or two?!), but kept things relaxed and fun. 

Laura wore a red orange dress with nude block heels. The color of her dress looked so great with her auburn hair, which she left down and natural. Anthony wore an ombre blue and white sweater with black pants and black sneakers. 

I am so glad I had the opportunity to shoot this Art Institute of Chicago engagement session. It was a dream location, and I had such a great day enjoying art while making some of our own. Thank you, Laura and Anthony, for a good time together and for being open to our documentary style shoot. I can’t wait until the next beautiful venue I get the chance to explore.
