Lauren and Matthew wanted something beautiful and warm for their engagement session, a tall order for a very cold early March. after doing a little bit of research, we settled on The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden for their engagement session and it was the best choice- while all of the grass and plants outside were dead and yellow, the Orchid Conservatory Greenhouse was amazing. it was warm. it was lush. it was vibrant. it was a beautifully inspiring engagement session after a long and cold winter. the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens are only twenty minutes outside of Charlotte, so it is very accessible for engagement sessions and weddings, but it is such a unique venue- there’s nothing else like it in Charlotte.

from the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden website- “the orchid conservatory is the Carolina’s only eight thousand square foot, five story glass house dedicated to a display of orchids and tropical plants.” and what an incredible display it is. there’s a waterfall, so many stunning orchids in bloom, and a small pathway lined with benches to sit and relax and enjoy the atmosphere. the light is delicious, the colors are bright, and it’s the best option for a session if you’re looking for summertime vibes in the winter. if you want your own Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden engagement session, message me to get in my books!

about Lauren + Matthew:

“We met online through coffee meets bagel. Matt was the first and only guy I ever met or went on a date with from the app. our first date was at a brewery and Matt ordered a sour, which I really like too. So my next round I got the same sour, and then on our second date (4th of July watching fireworks on the beach), he brought sours for both of us. I just remember thinking that was very sweet of him, and also cool that the both of us are kind of up for trying different things (maybe it’s different now, but back then I didn’t know a ton of people that liked sours.)
